The first joint ECA - UEFA Legal Workshop is set to take place this week on 8th & 9th June at the Orange Vélodrome in Marseille. ECA, committed to providing information services to member clubs, is working in collaboration with UEFA to hold an event that provides the most detailed and up-to-date overview of legal matters in football.

The aim of this workshop is to present and discuss the latest legal and regulatory developments affecting European club football, including the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations, the FIFA Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players and case law of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

The event will feature speakers from ECA, UEFA, FIFA, and clubs, providing expert insight into a series of legal topics. Amongst the distinguished speakers will be ECA Legal Advisory Panel Chairman & Sevilla FC CEO, José María Cruz and ECA Legal Advisory Panel Vice-Chairman & FC Bayern München Legal Director, Michael Gerlinger. There will also be a presentation from Head of Sports Legal Services at UEFA, Jacques Bondallaz who will inform participants on player and club eligibility in UEFA club competitions. Omar Ongaro, Football Regulatory Director at FIFA, will also be present for a Q&A session alongside many other speakers from the industry.

Attending the event will be 69 participants representing 54 different clubs of varying sizes across Europe, such as Manchester United FC, Club Atlético de Madrid, Juventus, Olympique de Marseille, FC Spartak Moskva, SL Benfica, PFC Ludogorets 1945, Maccabi Haifa FC and MŠK Žilina. 

The ECA - UEFA Legal Workshop is an exciting collaboration between two important stakeholders in European football, and is certain to be an informative two days.
