Knowledge and Education Manager


Reporting to: Head of Membership

ECA is the sole independent body directly representing football clubs at European level, with a membership panel consisting of more than 240 professional football clubs from across the continent. As the representative voice of European club football on the international football landscape, ECA’s core purpose is to place clubs at the ‘Heart of Football’.
ECA is developing its Administration to ensure it constantly enhances the delivery of value in its activities and services for its member clubs. It has an evolving team, currently around 20 people, and is on a mission of organisational growth, targeting a performance-driven culture and delivering high impact outcomes for the Administration and its member clubs.

Education, training and the exchange of applicable knowledge and insights sit at the very heart of ECA Services offered to its member clubs. Within the framework of the new ECA ‘Knowledge Services Strategy’, the ‘Club Management Programme’ (CMP), an industry wide renowned and established education programme for senior club executives, has been further developed and additional Knowledge Services will be created and implemented within in the next 24 months.

The ECA Knowledge and Education Manager will play a valuable role in the implementation and evolution of ECA’s Knowledge Services Strategy, e.g. the creation of new education and training programmes and the evolution of the existing programme range.

As part of a team at ECA dedicated both to engaging with and offering knowledge services for member clubs, you already have experience in the delivery of education programmes within the framework of the sports industry. A keen interest in sports and the European football industry, as well as a solid network in the wider business sector assumed. You are aware of industry and related non-industry developments and understand their importance for the current and future generation of football club managers.

This role is based at ECA’s offices in Nyon, Switzerland. Travel to member clubs, ECA-hosted events or other business engagements will be required.


Reporting to the Head of Membership and working in close collaboration with other departments within ECA:

• Manage the delivery of ECA’s executive education programme “Club Management Programme – 4th Edition” (CMP 4), including:
     o Organisation and coordination of programme sessions
     o Development of learning and training content for the CMP 4 and future programmes and the learning management system
     o Research on training and learning trends as well as ongoing trends inside and outside the football industry
     o Administration of ECA’s learning management system
     o Responsibility for communication with participants, guest lecturers, academic partners, service providers and other stakeholders
     o Coordination of service providers and guest lecturers
     o Establishment of an alumni club as well as planning and implementation of corresponding events.
• Support the implementation of ECA’s new Knowledge Services strategy
• Active participation in the development, evolution and update of the ECA Campus.
• Manage the delivery of knowledge publications as the new version of the “ECA Club Management Guide”, a publication gathering knowledge and best practices on the different activities within a professional football club.
• Support the creation and implementation of additional Knowledge Services and education programmes.
• Participation and involvement in continuous improvement measures in the association.
• Provide support to UEFA Academy and FIFA Collaboration.


• Advanced degree in business administration, human resources management or any other relevant master’s degree.
• At least 5 years of work experience in education, learning and development, training or membership services in general at management level.
• Ideally proven experience in the development, implementation, and conduction of development or membership programmes.
• General knowledge of “good and high-level education” and a solid network of content providers who can contribute to the delivery of this high-level education
• Experienced in working with learning management systems.
• Big affinity with football and a good understanding of the European Club football eco-system
• Able to plan, organize, monitor and conclude training sessions.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proven ability to work independently and with a project-based approach. • A positive, proactive mindset and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
• A team player who embraces collaboration and actively contributes to cross-departmental goals and projects.
• Excellent written, verbal communication and networking skills.
• Fluent in English. Additional languages would be advantageous.
• Willingness to travel
