European Club Association (ECA) has confirmed that award-winning broadcasters Amanda Davies and Anne-Laure Bonnet will host the 32nd ECA General Assembly, taking place from 7–9 October 2025 in Rome, Italy.
The General Assembly is the flagship meeting of European club football. It brings together senior leaders from across ECA’s 750+ Member Clubs to debate key issues, share knowledge and set the direction for the future of the game.
This year’s edition in Rome is expected to be one of the largest and most significant in ECA’s history.
Experienced Voices from World Sport
Amanda Davies, CNN International’s award-winning sports anchor, will head up the GA presenting duties in Rome. Throughout her career, the British journalist has covered some of the world’s biggest sporting events, including the FIFA World Cup, UEFA Champions League finals, Olympic Games and Formula 1. Davies has reported on some of the biggest stories in sport and interviewed global icons including Lionel Messi, Serena Williams and Usain Bolt.
Joining the hosting lineup is Anne-Laure Bonnet, one of France’s leading sports presenters. The multilingual journalist has worked across Formula 1, Italian football and international sport with TF1, Sky Italia and beIN SPORTS. Known for her expertise and on-screen presence, Bonnet has fronted major football coverage and high-profile programmes, becoming one of Europe’s most recognisable sports broadcasters.
A Landmark Moment for European Football Clubs
Together, they will guide three days of debate, decision-making and connection, ensuring that the voices of clubs from across Europe are at the heart of discussions that will shape the future of football.
ECA CEO Charlie Marshall said; “It’s great to have Amanda Davies and Anne-Laure Bonnet hosting the General Assembly in Rome next month. Amanda’s expertise covering major international events with the likes of CNN, combined with Anne-Laure’s experience working across European football in many languages, makes them the ideal hosting duo to compere such an important milestone in ECA's calendar. With clubs uniting from across Europe, this General Assembly will be a landmark opportunity to strengthen collaboration amongst our members and the wider football community”
Anne-Laure Bonnet said; "I'm excited to be co-hosting the ECA General Assembly in Rome this October — a moment when hundreds of clubs from across European football will come together to shape the future of the sport. Having spent much of my career working across different countries and languages in football — many of which were spent in Italy — I know how important it is to bring diverse voices into one room. Rome is a beautiful city with passionate fans, and with such a mix of clubs, cultures and ideas under one roof, I’m delighted to be part of it.”
Amanda Davis said; “Hosting the ECA General Assembly is a real privilege. Having covered some of football’s biggest moments over the years, it’s always clear that the game is about more than results — it’s about community, connection and purpose. Rome has a proud football tradition and provides the perfect backdrop for clubs from across Europe to come together to exchange ideas and look to the future. I’m looking forward to helping guide those conversations at such an important event.”
What to Expect in Rome
The General Assembly is set to be one of our best yet. It begins with the ECA Football Leaders Forum, bringing business leaders, football icons and fresh ideas to the stage. From there, members will dive into Subdivision Meetings, where clubs can share knowledge and exchange views in smaller groups. And finally, everything comes together in the Plenary Session – the highlight of the Assembly – when our full membership unites to shape the future of European football.
