The inaugural edition of the expanded FIFA Club World Cup will kick-off in the USA this weekend. The tournament will bring together 32 of the world’s top-flight clubs for a month-long tournament. Reflecting Europe’s strong representation in this new global format, a fierce lineup of ECA Member Clubs will be battling for the silverware on American soil.
Which ECA Member Clubs are Taking Part?
11 ECA Member Clubs have qualified for the tournament. Two secured their place by winning the UEFA Champions League during the 2021–2024 cycle. The remaining nine earned their spot via the UEFA ranking pathway, which rewards consistent performance in UEFA club competitions over the same four-year period.

Tournament Format and Group Structure
The 32 participating clubs will be split into eight groups of four teams. Each group will play a single round-robin format, with each team playing three matches. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Round of 16.

From the Round of 16 onwards, the competition will follow a straight knockout format, with single-leg ties determining which clubs progress through to the quarter-finals, semi-finals and ultimately the final. There will be no third-place play-off.

The opening match is scheduled to take place at Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday 14 June, while the final will be held on Sunday 13 July, at MetLife Stadium.

There will be three all-ECA clashes over the course of the group stage to look forward to:
- Group B: Paris Saint-Germain v Atlético de Madrid - Sunday 15 June
- Group C: SL Benfica v FC Bayern München - Tuesday 24 June
- Group G: Juventus FC v Manchester City - Thursday 26 June
