The ECA Regional Meetings series 2011/12 came to an end today with ECA Member Clubs from Central-Eastern Europe gathering for a final meeting in Bucharest at the occasion of the UEFA Europa League Final. The meeting, which was hosted by FC Steaua Bucuresti, brought together ECA Member Clubs from Romania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Slovenia, Serbia and Slovakia.
Two Regional Meetings had already been organised in April with FC Shakthar Donetsk hosting the Eastern European Group and HJK Helsinki welcoming ECA Member Clubs from Scandinavia.
All meetings were are great opportunity for ECA to inform its members present about the recently signed MoU with UEFA, but also to gather the clubs' views and opinions on several other important matters. Topics such as the international calendar, player eligibility, transfer system and player agents led to interesting discussions.
ECA will continue listening to its member clubs as additional meetings will be organised in different regions with the start of the 2012/13 season.
About ECA Regional Meetings:
The concept of Regional Meetings has been in place since the very early days of the organisation. It was introduced with the aim of developing better direct contact between ECA Member Clubs in a specific region. At the same time, it allows the ECA Administration to get first hand information about specific regional issues affecting clubs (as they can vary greatly throughout Europe), increase ECA awareness and inform the clubs about current European club football matters and the internal services the association offers.
