Biography

Asif Asgarov began his career in football in 2004. After playing crucial roles in various positions at Qarabağ FK, he steadily advanced to the positions of Board Member and Director of Internal Operations and Foreign Relations. His ascent through the ranks was driven by his ambition, hard work, and leadership skills.

Over the past 20 years with Qarabağ FK, Asgarov has been instrumental in the team's success, securing 11 championships and participating in UEFA competitions for ten consecutive years, including the UEFA Champions League Group Stage.

In addition to his achievements on the field, Asgarov holds an honors degree in Economics from Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University. He has furthered his education through executive programs at prestigious institutions such as Harvard Business School, the University of Michigan, the University of Liverpool, and the Stockholm School of Business. He also participated in the inaugural ECA Club Management Programme and contributed significantly to the ECA Competition Working Group during the 2019-2023 cycle.

As an ECA Board Member, Asgarov's role includes shaping the global perspective of club representatives, sharing valuable experiences, and staying abreast of innovations in modern football.

His election to the ECA Board marks a significant milestone, as he became the first Azerbaijani citizen to represent the country in football-related organisations.
