ECA Media Release
Five years ago, on the 21st of January 2008, ECA was born and the first Memorandum of Understanding was signed between UEFA and ECA. This historic anniversary was celebrated today at the occasion of the ECA Executive Board meeting in Nyon. UEFA President Michel Platini and UEFA General Secretary Gianni Infantino were present to congratulate ECA on reaching this early milestone.
On this occasion, ECA Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said:
"It has been a real pleasure to work for the good of European club football and I believe we can be very proud of our history so far. We must now look forward to the future and the next five years which will bring up new challenges."
The ECA 5th year anniversary celebration will continue in February when ECA Member clubs gather in Doha, Qatar for the 10th ECA General Assembly.
